How to delete an archive after extraction
Extract files and delete the original archive with Bandizip
The Extract and Delete feature of Bandizip automatically moves the original archive to the Trash (or permanently deletes it) after file extraction is completed.
This convenient feature allows you to do both extracting and deleting files in a single click. However, it is not uncommon that users sometimes delete archives they did not intend to. In particular, files located on external or network drives are not moved to the Trash but instantly deleted, casuing permanent data loss. Caution is required when using the feature.
To minimize such risks, Bandizip keeps the Extract and Delete feature disabled by default. To access the feature, go to Preferences > Finder Menu tab and check the checkbox(es) as shown in the screenshot below.
The Extract and Delete feature only operates when users execute it manually and explicitly, ensuring that they do not delete their files by mistake.
